Astrophotography

There’s something special about looking up at the night sky and wondering what more could be in the universe. Some of these thoughts bring on fear – fear of the unknown, of large spaces, and of otherworldly beings. Sometimes, the thoughts are more peaceful…and bring a sense of belonging to the planet we are on and the God we serve. It takes patience and practice not to defer to the first couple of thoughts.
Astrophotography grasps my heart because unlike taking pictures of people, skylines, or animals – the stars share stories much longer than what’s taken place on Earth. Cloudy collections of the universe bundle together and share a piece of history with anyone who gazes upon it. Satellites orbit the atmosphere with intentionality but also have arguably the best view of both worlds.

How often do you glance up at the night sky, whether in awe or curiosity?
